Privacy Policy
What stays on your device, what ordinary web services can receive, and what will change if advertising is enabled.
Audio analysis
Your audio is processed locally
BPMDetector uses browser APIs to decode and analyze audio on your device. Audio files selected for BPM analysis are not uploaded to BPMDetector, stored on our servers, attached to an account, or shared with an external audio-analysis provider.
Closing or refreshing the page clears the in-memory analysis state. Your browser or operating system may independently retain the original file in its normal local storage; BPMDetector does not control that storage.
The site does not request microphone, camera, location or payment permissions for tempo analysis. Tap Tempo uses only the timing of your button or keyboard input.
Do not submit private audio through the public GitHub feedback channel. That channel is operated by GitHub and is subject to GitHub's own privacy practices.
Website delivery
Data handled by hosting and browsers
Like most websites, BPMDetector and its hosting provider may receive routine request data when a page loads. This can include an IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, referrer, approximate location derived from network information, timestamps and security events.
This information may appear in short-lived operational or security logs used to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose availability problems. BPMDetector does not offer user accounts and does not ask visitors to create a personal profile.
A service worker may cache site files on your device so the core tool can load quickly and continue working offline. You can remove that cached data through your browser's site-data controls.
External links, including links to Google or GitHub, lead to services with their own privacy policies. BPMDetector is not responsible for how those services handle data after you leave this site.
Advertising
Google AdSense application
BPMDetector has applied to participate in Google AdSense. Advertising scripts are not active on the site while this application is being prepared. If ads are enabled, this policy and the site's consent controls will be updated before advertising begins.
Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses and information about page visits to deliver, measure and limit ads. Depending on your region and choices, advertising may be personalized or non-personalized.
Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services in its partner-sites policy.
Where required, visitors will be offered a consent or privacy-choice message before advertising technologies that require consent are used. Browser cookie controls and Google My Ad Center provide additional choices.
An ads.txt file may identify Google as an authorized advertising seller. That public file contains a publisher identifier, not visitor information.
General terms
Children, changes and questions
BPMDetector is a general music utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect account information from children.
This policy may change when site features, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page will be updated when material revisions are published.
For privacy questions or correction requests, open an issue in the public BPMDetector GitHub repository. Do not post personal, financial, identity or confidential information in a public issue.
